Being Me™ is a supportive therapy group series that invites you to share in community while practicing skills in mindfulness and inner-kindness. In this group, you’ll learn how to cultivate mindful well-being while exploring what makes you, you.

This group can stand alone if you are new to caring for your mental health or are seeking a fresh set of well-being tools. “I Am Worthy: Understanding the Story I Tell Myself”
january 19 - march 9th
mondays 6:30 pm - 7:45 pm
8 weeks

I Am Worthy focuses on understanding the story we tell ourselves about who we are, where it came from, why it stuck, and how it once learned to keep us safe. For many neurodivergent people, these stories develop in response to misunderstanding, masking, or adapting to expectations that didn’t fit. Using creative expression, body-based awareness, and breath practices, we gently notice these stories with kindness and curiosity while creating space for new ones rooted in worth, care, and truth. By the end of the program, you’ll have a clearer sense of who you are, what supports you, and how to live in ways that feel more honest, grounded, and aligned with your values.

What to Expect Each Week
Each session follows a consistent, supportive rhythm to help create safety, predictability, and ease. You are always encouraged to participate at your own pace, with options to observe, modify, or opt out as needed.

-
Grounding & Arrival
We begin with gentle grounding, breathwork, or somatic practices to help you settle into your body and the space.

-
Creative Exploration
Through accessible art therapy techniques (no artistic experience required), we explore themes related to self-worth, identity, and personal stories.

-
Reflection & Meaning-Making
You’ll have opportunities for individual reflection and optional group sharing, focusing on curiosity rather than judgment.

-
Mindfulness & Inner-Kindness Skills
Each week includes practical tools you can use outside of group to support emotional regulation, self-compassion, and nervous system care.

-
Integration & Closing
We end with a brief closing practice to help integrate the experience and transition back into your day.

Throughout the group, we prioritize choice, consent, and nervous-system awareness, honoring different communication styles, energy levels, and sensory needs.

common questions
Why Group Therapy?
Group therapy offers several benefits and advantages that make it a valuable and effective approach for addressing various mental health and personal growth needs:
Support and Validation: Being part of a group of individuals who are experiencing similar challenges can provide a strong sense of support and validation. Participants often find comfort in knowing they are not alone in their struggles, reducing feelings of isolation and fostering a sense of belonging.

Shared Perspective: Hearing different viewpoints and experiences from others in the group can offer valuable insights and fresh perspectives on one's own story.

Learning from Others: One of the most significant advantages of group therapy is the feedback and insights from my fellow group members. Fresh perspectives, and other members observations and support encourage us to dig deeper into our emotions, fostering a stronger sense of self-awareness and self-acceptance.

Interpersonal Skills Development: Being part of a group inherently involves interacting with others, providing an opportunity to practice and improve interpersonal skills, communication, and emotional expression in a safe and supportive environment.
Continued Support and Social Network: Some group members develop lasting connections and friendships outside of therapy, creating a supportive social network beyond the group setting.
Is It Normal to Feel Nervous about Group Therapy?
Yes, it is normal for people to feel apprehensive and nervous when considering participating in a group therapy experience. Growth and discomfort are good buddies, and sharing our stories with others is vulnerable work. To ease discomfort, our therapists intentionally cultivate a warm, nurturing, and confidential environment for all group participants to feel comfortable exploring their present-moment experiences.
Do I Need to Pay for the Group?
Yes, please! You can use your insurance and we will bill your insurance company on your behalf. We are in-network with BCBS, U-Care, Mayo Medica, MEDICA, Tri-Care, United Health, Health Partners, Atena, and Preferred One. Please know if you choose to use your insurance, you will need to attend one individual therapy session at Flourish to establish care before starting the group. Prior to your first session, our practice administrator will review Flourish’s billing policy with you and answer any questions. This conversation is also an opportunity for you to discuss personalized billing arrangements.
If you prefer to use private pay, the cost is $520 for all 8 group sessions. For more information, give us a call at 507-993-7731 or email us at flourish@flourish-counseling.com
What If I Already Have a Therapist?
Awesome! You can still join our group and keep your individual therapist. Also, you don’t need to have a therapist to join the group. Although we do think therapists are fantastic! If you would like to use your insurance, you will need to attend one individual therapy session with a counselor at Flourish to establish care. However, you can continue to see your other therapist for individual therapy while attending group therapy at Flourish.
What If I Need to Miss a Session?
We highly recommend attending all eight sessions. But we get it; life happens. If you need to miss a session, you may be able to schedule an individual make-up session, depending on the group therapist’s availability.
Do I Need to Bring Anything?
A notebook and a pen might be handy. But if you forge, we have extras to share.
Is Talking in the Group Required?
You can share as much or as little as you prefer. At Flourish, sharing and listening are equally valued. We’re delighted you showed up.
Can Enroll in the Group More Than Once?
Yes. Yes, you can.
